RE: DODGE SRT??
It's not the SRT4's fault. It's the fact that it's fast as hell for an economy box, and young kids buy them. Young kids modding a car typically means they aren't doing things right, and when you do things wrong, things break. That and anything with a turbo is a little bit touchy for timing and fuel mixtures, seeing as cylinder pressures are that much higher. An 11 second 2.4L turbo car is tuned so much on the edge that a couple revs at 25psi going just a hair too lean means BOOM. At least if you're making 400hp on a V8, that's only 50hp per cylinder. Imagine the difference in the likelyhood of detonation when you double that.

RE: DODGE SRT??
Didnt want to say anything cause im not exactly in my own neighborhood here, and Im not trying to step on anyones nuts, just throwing FACTS out on the table. BigNic, no offense buddy but you really need to do your research before you open your mouth.
FACT: First off I dont know who would win, not saying the camaro, not saying the SRT4. Trying to be as un-biased as possible.
FACT: The 2.4 DOHC turbo is one of the strongest motors available right now. Time and again they have seen up to 500hp on stock internals. I personally know 3 people running OVER 400 WHEEL HP on stock internals, daily driver, and frequent trips down the 1320. Granted you have to tune it right, or yes, like any other turbo'd engine (even V8s like say... an lt1, if you choose to do so) will do a very good impression of a hand granade! Dont believe me, ask anyone at DCR, who currently has the worlds fastest street-legal SRT4 (9.82 at E-town on slicks) and see what they have to say.
FACT: A bone stock SRT4, factory trim will run a 13.5 in the quarter... ive seen the timeslip. Now if you drive like me... it wont happen, but it is possible.
FACT: a bone stock SRT4 will dyno 230-240whp and 260tq
FACT an SRT4 wieghs in at around 2900lbs
FACT: an SRT4 for is rediculously hard to launch, unless your a good driver. A V8 with lots of low end torque will roast em just as easy. My S3R is almost useless at the track on street tires because I cant keep my foot out of it. Its like trying to sprint in ballet shoes.
FACT: a stock SRT4 power curve peaks at around 2500rpm and stays there till around 4800.Its pretty flat.It rev limits at 6000. So its not one of these hi-winding V-turds that the honda clowns drive, where you dont get your power till 9000 RPM
Im not dumping on camaros in any way shape or form, just saying if your going to talk $hit then do your homework first.

RE: DODGE SRT??
I think a 13.5 is a little far-fetched. 13.9 is like pulling teeth. Factory rev limit is 6200, not 6000. Factory weight is closer to 3050 lbs, not 2900. Depends on options of course, but most SRT4s have quite a few. Do your homework.

RE: DODGE SRT??
um, not to state the obvious, but have you guys considered the fact you may be talkin different year cars. They may look the same, but a 70 pound difference is not that much, and also the rev limiter is prolly different on 2 different year cars
