Default Dodge Neon SRT-4 Stage 3

So.. from what I can tell these cars are a 4 banger that in performance mod make 355 Horse and 385 Torque stock. Their also about 800 pounds lighter than my V8 (V8 = 3600, Neon = 2800). Someone was ripping around town in one and it moved so I was wondering if anyone raced one? Or driven one?

they might have the same power than the ls1 camaros, but srt4's are still fwd...traction problems...ive seen some race at a 1/8 mile track if they have slicks they can beat mostly stock ls1's...

stage 3 is not stock. it has new injectors, tune, and even an upgraded turbo iirc.
and yes, they can be quick little buggers, but the srt4's can be a ***** to drive. do not roll race one unless you are just planning on admiring it drive away

Stage 3 is also rated at 300HP with the "toys package" and exhaust. With out the "toys package" the stage 3 is rated at 260. The SRT-4 is not 2800 pounds. Maybe a super base model neon. The SRT-4 is going to be some wear in the 3200 pound range give or take a few. If he is running over 350 at the wheels he would also be running a aftermarket turbo as the factory maxes out at a little over 300. Race from a dig or at a track and you should take him.

Well.. from the many SRT owners I've talked to they have a high octane mode, which pushes 355 and 375-385. And it was in some car mags I bought from the airport on my way through. High octane mode (higher psi on premium gas is what I collect from the magazines and owners) they go 355 and 385. And the passes for these stage 3's with only the stage 3 package is low to mid 12's. They guys throw on nitrous or a bigger intercooler/turbo and they hit 11's and 10's pretty easy. Plus a couple of the owners weighed them when they got them dynoed, and without the driver it's about 2900-3000 usually. The stage 3 that is, without driver. So they can't have to bad of traction issues. At least from a dig.

I forgot to mention the 355 and 375 is the "with toys" package. Without toys all the owners are saying around 340 and 355 or so.

um, that makes no sense. so buy going stage 3 (bigger turbo, injectors, a few other goodies), you're only gaining 30hp??? bone stock an SRT4 makes 230bhp.

Hmm well I'm not sure what drivetrain loss is on FWD cars, but their saying dynoed with toys their putting down numbers like 330-335 and 355-360 wheel power.

yeah srt4's have 4 settings

0, for driving in the snow
1, driving in the rain
2, driving with street tires
3, most hp for drag radials

and it has a button for the intercooler water spray..and the high octane button..

OK the SRT-4 NEON stage 3 kit on race fuel with toys package and exhaust is rated at 355 at the crank or thats what they claim. A stage 3 srt-4 on normal fuel with out toys will but down around 260-280 at the wheels. And no that is not a 75 horse power drop keep in mind that 355 is on race fuel on higher boost with toys to control temps. Best case the neon will spin a little over 300 on the dyno on race fuel and pushing the boost limit. There is a reason mopar would not warranty the stage 3 package. Just my 2 cents.
