it was probably a 03 srt-4, they did not come with an lsd. i have raced mine at mo-kan dragway more than 100 times and i have never had any torque steer. as a matter of fact on my way home this morning from work, i stopped on a back road and took off wot without my hands on the steering wheel and it stayed straight. mine is a 04. dodge realized they made a mistake with the 03 not having an lsd so 04's and 05's come with it. i am not trying to start an argument or anything , i was just bored at work so i went to a few forums to see what ppl were saying about srt-4's. by the way i have been beat by a few camaro's and i have beat a few. the other day i raced an ss and was hanging with him until about 100 then he just left me behind , i was like what the ? i am assuming he had n2o. i have had the same experience at the track. and they did have n2o.

What is you best 1/4 time? I don't know what year the Neon I was running against was, but maybe he had just modded it to too much power and that contributed to the torque steet. Sounds like you are in the high to mid 13s from what you said your car does against SSs. This guy claimed he could do in the high 10s. He didn't launch like that, more like mid 12s, but that's still fast. I think he was pushing his engine too much though, heard he blew the head open about a month later. Haven't heard if and how he re-built.

Anyway, SRTs are fun cars - nothing wrong with them. Hang in there and hope you have fun with it. Just be careful adding more boost, its so easy to just blow the whole motor.

i am mildly modded i have stage 1 pcm, k and n cai, mpx under drive pulley, turbo xs boost controller, turbo xs blow off valve, agp waste gate actuator, mopar short throw shifter w/ booger bushings, 3 " down pipe (no cat), prothane motor mounts, ngk iridium plugs. my best time is 13.82 at 101 mph. i spin my tires pretty good in 1 st and 2 nd so my next mod is some wheels with drag radials. hopefully that will get me in the low 13's.

Sounds like you have a good car. If you ever encounter torque steer, I've actually heard of people putting different width tires on front to counteract it. They claim it works, moving traction and pull to the side with, say, a 245 vs a 225 on the other side. Obviously its key to get them the same diameter (e.g., 245/35s vs. 225 40s, etc.). but this trick is supposed to work with modded VWs, etc.

I guess alot of us use words in a slightly different meaning. To me, "ricer" means either: 1) a small-displacement (aren't they all) Japanese car, modified, usually garishly, with scopes, slots, dams, wings, lights, etc., and maybe real go-fast parts, too., or 2) the owner of that car.

But only Japanese cars. I don't consider VW GTI enthusiasts ricers nor Cobalt or Neon SRT owners.

in my opinion, "rice" is an insult directed towards a car that is physically modified (poorly) and it doesnt have the brass to back it up..

srt-4s CAN be ricers, here is a picture of one...

and for the record, find me a grandma driving an srt4...
