Default cousins 300zx

i have a cousin that just bought an early90sNissan 300zx 5spd. he was talkin trash on my 96 3.8 and i've offered to race him several times and finally he comes up with the excuse of "no offense or anything but i don't want to waste my gas". that pissed me off so bad i left about 20% of the tread off my cooper cobras in his works parking lot by brake torquing it. now i wish i didn't but it seemed like a good idea at the time. now i just have a for the most part stock 3.8 auto camaro with magnaflow cat-back on it. i don't know the first thing about his car but when or if he ever stops ***** footin around and decides to race me what am i going to have to put on my car to ensure at least a length on him?

be weary of the 300ZX TT, those things are pretty damn quick from the factory. they're even faster than the 350Z (not the new 306hp ones though)

do you think my extra torque makes up for my weight though? we'll run on the street if we end up racing so should i just launch from idle or brake torque it? i only ask because i always thought that brake torquing didn't really do much unless you have either a trans brake or a 2 step, which i have neither but it'll be a one time run and i just want it to be a good one. i'm 17 and i've only raced twice one time i was on the highway already doing 65 wheni ran against a mid 90's 6cyl mustang, we only went for about 1/4-1/2 mi or so i got a pretty good lead on him before i let up. the second was a neon not sure what year but that was from a 35mph roll and by the time i hit 60 i was a good 1 and a fender a head of him according to my buddy in the pass. seat, i personally thought i was more like 2 but that was just looking throught a side mirror.

one of my friends has a neon, and he would never race from a dig. but we always raced from 35, cuz thats where there best TQ curve is i guess. anyway. by time i hit 60, i was 3 almost 4 cars ahead of him.

because the 350Z was produced in much higher numbers, i don't call 14,000 cars over 4 years a high production rate. the 350Z is at that per year
