theres a new guy in the complex i work in that has a cobalt.. not sure about any mods.. anyways hes been saying hes raced othe camaros and mustangs and hes slaughtered them.. well im gnna race him tommorow night.. the road has about half a mile straight nice no bumps.. so were meeting up there.. what do you guys think the outcome will be?? saying he only has CAI and exhaust..

 

What kind of cobalt? I'm pretty sure an SS would smoke you but i'm not sure about the other types.

 

a SS would smoke you, and i think a 2.4 would be neck and neck, it being lighter with not much less power/TQ.the 2.2 is gonna be a lil bit better than the sunfire you were talking about, and you'll prolly get it by 1-2cars, Maybe 3 if it's a **** driver... you doing the whole 1/2 mile? depending on what model it is, the limitor is set to 108 or 118, if it's 108, you're almost garunteed to win the 1/2.

is it a 4dr or 2dr? not all, but most 2drs are 2.4s. and a SS.. you'll know it when you see it.

def not an ss.. i dnt see any badges on it.. and its a 4 door.. and we will probably do a little morew than 1/4 but not the full 1/2.. because right after that 1/2 mile straigh away is a mean curve.. so we will need some stopping time...

 

the SS is more HP/TQ, and lighter, and will pull alot better in upper MPH..

4door is almost garunteed to be a 2.2, so you should win by about 2cars. it's the same as the sunfire, cept newer technology, prolly somewhat lighter, and i beleive they're tuned better. most 4doors are also automatic, so you'll have that edge if he is auto.

yea, they are all FWD cars, and the SS has a LSD to help traction, but it'll still spin like a ****. only edge you'd have against a SS.

see the new SS/Redline coming out? gona be turbo'ed instead, and they're thinking either RWD or AWD. havent decided yet. and it'll also be available on the 4doors this time around.

 

how much hp and tq do you have?

because a cobalt ss has about 200hp and 200ft of lbs

 

its pushing 200 hp to the ground??? im thinkinkin im also in that range.. i have stock 3.8 only mods are hi flow cat, exhausts and CAI... never dynod so not sure exactly what im pushing.. but if they have 200 hp and 200ft/lb im thinkin against an ss wouls still b a drivers race.
