chatted with a young ricer!!
I thought this was kind of funny so I fugured I'd share it. My boss asked me for a favor and take her car to emmisions so I thought get paid to sit in line and do nothing? Cool! My boss owns a 95 honda crv. You know kind of a ugly small under powered suv? When I'm next in line this young ricer who works there comes to me to get the cars info for the test. He says to me"yeah I should have gotten something with luxsury but I chose performance instead". I was thinking WTF. Believe me this thing with 4 tires is not going to win any beauty awards anytimg soon! So I asked "what do you got?" and he looked over to a 90ish Acura that was maroon with a white over exagerated front bumper. Typical. He said he put 12g's into the motor and now he can keep up with Corvettes!! "Keep up huh?" is what came out of my mouth. Now Camaros and Mustangs can "keep up" with Corvettes with bolt on's and he thought he did something great but putting all his college tuition in to this car just to "keep up"?? Beating Corvettes is what you would want if you put that much into your car!! I just smiled and left it at that. I thought that was the most hilarious thing I've heard in a long time and it was made even funnier coming from a ricer!! I'm laughing just typing this!!

Yeah i know what you mean. I was at the track and this guy with a cavalier came over and started talking to me. He was running some APC home made intake on a stock 2.2 ecotech. He had neons and wires running every where a electricians worst nightmare. Said he used to have turbo and had been running 11s before. His best time last night 16.9.

12 grand in a civic might get you into the 13s in a striped out civic or CRX. The integra is a little heaver around 2800 pounds, This is why you see more older pre EG6 body cars that way in around 2300-2500 pounds at the strip. It would take a hell of a engine and some big *** slicks for a integra to even match the 1/4 times of a vette. And on the road from any type of roll the vette would kill even a highly moded civic. A K20 is around 8 grand just for the swap or you could build a LS around 3 grand just for the swap and then 4500 for the turbo kit just to pull of low 14s and traction is going to be a huge problem Maybe be with good tuning and supporting mods you may be able to pull mid 13s but at this point you have 12 grand into a 4000 dollar car.
