they prolly have around the same power to the rear, but u also have to remember that his car is 11 years old now. a lot of wear and tear can happen in 11 years. all in all, sounds like a drivers race tho

320 rwhp is slightly above average for ls1s, but definitely not outright crazy. I'd say the average ls1 is between 305-315. But, he definitely beats you in the torque department, and not just peak torque. All across the band.

I think it's gonna come down to the driver, but I'd put my money on you because of the gears. If he's really totally stock, then worst case scenario for you is that he's got the 3.23 rear end. If you can pull off a good launch with those 4.10s, you'll keep him at bay. But don't get too far above 100mph!

But the little brother is pretty adamant about being able to take me... with my mods do you guys think I can handle him? i know i've heard some LS1s coem with like 320rwhp stock, like the freaks... so i was jw

P.S. before I get flamed I use to drive a 97 Z28, and thats how i started out on this forum
if you can drive, you've got it in the bag. with the 4.10's you're gonna run outta speed pretty quick though.

I agree, sounds like a close one. Can't wait to hear how it goes. Sounds to me like your HP loss to your rear end isn't something unacceptable. A close one like this one? Depends on the driver, definitely.

Z28>350Z at least the pre 09s by about a full second. With your mods you should be able to match a stock LS1 with no problem. I expect your probaly in the very very low 13s if i am not mistaken correct.

id put money on the stang.
the ls1 is about 350bhp, which, at 15% loss is right around 300rwhp (350*.85=297.5rwhp) you multiply by .85 which yeilds 85% (or 15% less than 100%) of the total.

the 5 speed in that mustang has plenty long gears, he wont run out of gear until he hits 5th somewhere in the 110-120 range. if you are still racing after that you are a retard.

the new mustangs just launch like bats out of hell too. even a mediocre driver should be able to get the camaro out of the hole, which means the camaro should be playing catchup to a more powerful car.

at the strip, full boltons is enough to make a new stang and an ls1 a drivers race (because of the catchup thing). with cams, and the reasons listed above, i give you the win.

btw, when did you get that car? it looks familiar, u didnt buy it off mustangforums did you?

i've seen s197s with less bolt ons than myself run high 12s.. and ones with basic boltons and 100shot running 11s

Yeah I redline in 4th gear at ~119 and then 5th is OD =P with the stock 3.55s i was able to get to 140+ in 4th lol.

And no i bought it at a dealer, but i am on mustangforums (slowstang06 <---i was still spiteful when i made the account)

well hell, brennspeed (or whatever) ran 12.9x with only CAI and tune, but then again he had full race slicks and launched at redline.
im just saying typically a bolton s197 can compete with an ls1 fbody. ur cams give you an advantage
