my dad has an 02 chevy silverado 1500. z71 like four wheel drive and all. bone stock 5.3 liter. all terrain tires. i believe its an ls (trim).
were going to drag race.
98 camaro 3.8. auto. stock everything except k&n filter. and magnaflow muffler. i plan on getting a lid and headers by then.


can i beat him?

and what else are some bolt ons (intake and exhuast are the only things i can think of)

 

probably not. You can get a better start than him, but he will catch up to you.

you wont win trust me my grandfather has a 05 silv. with the 5.3 just intake and exhaust. i had a 3.4 94 that i would walk 3.8 (underdrive pulley, intake, exhaust, shift kit, MSD coils, headers, and a posi out of a Z) and he still walked me by cars, i could launch really hard and i pulled two cars on him right out of the hole but then he ran me down and jst kept pulling. so yea sorry to say but he will kill you ecspecially if he starts in 4WD then he will launch as hard as you can.

 

can someone move it for me please?
and i expect his truck to run about a 16 flat in the 1/4.
so can i not mod mine to make it run close to this. i thought you can get 15 flat with full boltons. which i plan on having done before we line up.

If you wanna go on the route of Forced Induction, then you need to do some internal works. Exampe: racing headers, cams, exhaust etc. You can get a small boost of 5-6 psi for you car. Then add about a 100 shot of NOS if you want. After that you have a great shot of winning against your dad (if he stays stock).

If you would like to supercharge your car, then I suggest you read on some information and learn about it before you make a decision. This is a thread started by specter and it has very useful for information on SC/TB. I suggest you read all the threads, it will only benefit you.

after reading and watching a few videos, i think i will go with turbo when i go with forced induction.
