Thats a fairly significant gear difference, so that should make up for some of your power disadvantage. Give it a try once the stang is up and running, and you might be the one talking smack about how your V6 smoked a 5.0 good luck man!

Like i said, i have raced many, many, mustangs since i started driving. They are a small car with a V8 and a 5 speed. They are by no means slow, wait until you win and then you can talk your smack. I look forward to reading about it as i always like to see a Camaro beat a stang.

Good luck man, but i really dont think you have a shot at it. I dont know much about camaros but to try and put it into perspective ill do this.

I had a 99 Grand Prix GTP that had the supercharged 3.8L which i assume is close to your engine but your NA. As i said i have no idea if they are the same or not. I had a boost upgrade, headers, full exhaust, ram air, and a reprogrammed chip. Up here in Canada at 3400ft i was running consistant 14.4 1/4s. At that time by buddies with the 5.0L were running anywhere around 14.7-15.3.

Now on the flip side i had another guy i know running a non supercharged Grand prix same year. With every bolt on you can imagine he was running 16.0 which has got to be close to what your car runs.

No offense but i dont think you have a chance in that race. But that being said theres only one way to find out! Let us know how it goes, it is the weekend and im sure you can find some time to go for a run with him.

Sudstoy stock(auto) runs 15.7 with 3.08 and the GT runs 15.3. I have 3.73 and i have done some research and with 3.42 will bring it to 15.2 so im guessing with just the gears it will be close to 15.0 plus the mods i have..On the other hand the stang has a few mods also so im guess he will run about 14.9-15.1 so it might just be a Drivers Race

Are those numbers what you read in a magazine or what you see at the track?
