Camaro vs Firebird
One of my friends wants to race me and this is what we have.
Mine= 1985 Iroc-Z with 1989 L98 out of a Corvette. I have bigger injectors and a mild cam and bigger throttle body on my tpi motor. I also have dual exhaust with glasspacks and no cat. I have an automatic with 3.42 gears in the one wheel wonder rearend.
His= 1996 Trans am with automatic and sub-frame connectors and headers and flowmaster exhaust. Everything else is stock.

The question is, did the modifications to your car add 70+ hp? That's about what you're going to need to match up to what his car has. And, your car doesn't have limited slip. His car by a few lengths.

Don't make any big bets...what you have dose not match the Firebirds stock HP. And by the way your Corvette motor only made 245 hp and your mods(glasspacks for example) are NOT increasing it by any big numbers.

The 96 is a lt1 car, so it only had 275 hp. It may be a lil closer than some say. But most likely the ta should win, unless the guy cant drive for crap. But only one way to find out!! Sure it'll be fun regardless. Good luck bud, let us know how it pans out.

Well it finally happened. I won by half a car link. I got him off the line and was ahead until the end of the quarter mile mark. He then pulled away from me. I need a built up Ls motor when I get enough cash. Something better than an l98 that will pull through higher rpm's.
