Not any more. The old trucks used to have similar 350s.

I'm fine with bragging about a car that I drive, and I help work on. I won't brag about owning it, since no idiot in their right mind would brag about owning a ford

Welcome back...

Since you're actually attempting to learn here, I'll entertain this with a real answer.

The Chevy small block has gone into numerous vehicles. Cars, trucks, vans etc. That said, the only thing that is similar between some of them is the block itself. Chevrolet has varied the bore and stroke to get multiple different displacements for different applications (327, 350 and 383 are all based on the same block for instance). With that said, different heads and cams have gone into the engines to give them different stats. The traditional Chevy small block is slowly dieing away (the LTX series is the last redesign on the traditional design) and GM has now moved to the LSX block, which is an entirely new design. The LSX also goes into both cars and trucks, but once again, they vary the bore, stroke, heads, cam etc. to make different numbers. Any LS1 isn't even a true 350, it's actually a 346. So with this long explanation, no, the "350" that goes into a truck isn't exactly the same as a "350" that goes into the performance cars.

um..... kinda. cant expect an LT guy to know these things

trucks got a 5.3 which is based on the same engine design, still LS series. the LSX is actually an aftermarket block with redesigned sleeves and some other cool stuff to allow for huge bores and stroked. i think the biggest ones are in the 460 cubic inch range. so the motors are actually known as "LS series" and yes, its a 346.

i dont know my trucks very well, but they did not get the ls1, that was reserved for the vette and fbodies. there were some other engine codes thrown out like the lq9, which went into other chevy v8 apps, but i dont remember displacement.

the ls1 is a 350hp all aluminum motor.

I think the biggest ls series I've seen is the ls454. The 5.3's are nifty, you can get them with the vortech heads.
