bmw vs camaro?

actually, a good 5 years ago, i drew one on paper lol... apparently it was a good idea. well, they make one hell of a good engine... so they must of did something right.

it's cheap, easy to work on and doesn't usually weigh a ton. they can make good power too. plus if you crack the cylinder sleeve, just pull it off and put a new one on

dont know much about them but I bet the design had something to do with ralley racing

dont know much about them but I bet the design had something to do with ralley racing
not really, the design was used almost exclusivly by VW until the mid 50's, when the Porsche 356 came into being. since then, really only Porsche's and VW's have ever used that motor.

oh, ive only ever heard of the horizontally opposed 4 in the STi's
that's what i was talking about, the flat 4s and 6s.

no, AMC didn't like the design of the flat motors, they stuck with inline motors and v motors. the inline motor makes way more torque than a flat motor does, it wouldn't be economical to do that
