haha this is completely retarded...so me and my friend have been debating whose car will win at the strip this spring (camaro vs cutlass thread)...and we somehow got to argueing about our winter beaters...what y'all think...

1994 Pontiac Transport Minivan 3.8L vs. 1994 Toyota Camry 2.2L. Both stock, except the camry has a flowmaster exhaust and a CAI

 

i'm going to have to say the pontiac. that engine has a good bit more torque than the toyota. the camry was never a fast car, ever. they always tried to copy the honda accord, which was trying to copy the BMW 3 series. honda was successful in matching up with what they had their eyes on, while toyota wasn't.

since we're racing beaters, i have an 88 accord i'd certainly throw into the ring if i were closer. last pass was in the high 15's, low 16's. yeah, we're talking slow.

 

I used to have a transport those things have bawlz.

Ok guys im just throwing it out there that a stock camry runs approximatley 16 flat in the 1/4th mile. (some of your 3.8's hit times higher than that.) now with the added exhaust and intake itll drop even more time. So your saying that a 94camry, which is better than some maro's will lose to a van>???

 

i own the camry...first off its no where near my 3.8 maro...and it doesn't run 16's...more like 18's or 19's

that van is also a slow piece of **** too...but it's alright for a ****in van
