i pull out of the BMW dealership (seeing a friend) and saw a white LS1 SS going by as i pulled out. so i hurried and got beside him at the light. when the light changed we both stood on the go petal and i got him by about a car, then we ran again from a 30 mph roll. i got him again. my car is a 97 SS that is bone stock. how can this be? both cars 6spd and he didn't seem to spin anymore than me. i always thought the LS1 cars were quite a bit faster than the LT1 cars. i have found that i have beat 4 cars that i shouldn't of beaten. were the 97 SS cars that underrated? i beat a 02 Cobra (CAI , exhaust , pulley) a 07 BMW 335I (twin turbo car) , a 94 Vette (LT1 auto) and a Infinity G35 ( more of a slaughter than a kill)

 

hate to tell ya, but those cars didn't know they were racing

 

oh there was no doubt about them knowing they were racing. the guy in a LS1 SS started it, me and Mustang ran with a flagger and the BMW 335I is a good friend of mine. ...they all knew without a doubt

 

A guy I work with said that a few years back his friends LT1 police package Camaro would out runhis 99 LS1 car. Not sure how but maybe they will??? Driver differences? Probably. neither car is a slouch thats for sure.

and as for beating the LS1 nice kill my B4C package interceptor beats them at lowspeeds but they do me some damage on the highway still (over 100-120)

To the OP. On the street anything can happen, bad traction, bad driver, in the wrong gear. Who knows for sure. I beat cars all the time that "should" beat me.

 

true, lol but do you think an LT1 interceptor could take an LS1? maybe not an SS, but a Z28?

okay first off....i am no "kid" , second it may not of been an 02 cobra but it was a non SC cobra. i know i can't touch one of the SCed Cobra unless the driver is a complete dip. i have have several F bodies but this is my first 4th gen. i had a Vortec headed 383 powered 87 that ran 7.30's in the 1/8. i know alittle bit about fast cars.
