I have a friend that has a GLI VW which is a up graded jetta, any ways he got a turbo kit put on that cost well 8,000 and he does nothing but talk... He got it dynoed on a jet dyno last weekend with 346 to the wheels.. Any one race one yet??

Boy, I hope He upgraded His Axles, etc. I've done a few 2.0 Mit engines in Eclipses ( The fastest one ran 11.90's ) and those guys break parts worse than any of Us with V8 setups do.

 

If you know anything about DSM's(that 2.0L Mitsu Eclipse), they break. Even the guys who love 'em admit they break a lot. And those new GLi's aren't terribly fast stock, but they can't be underestimated. If it's the last body style Jetta, it's N/A stock and it'll be harder to get that power out of it, race him and find out just how fast it is.

 

Im located in York, PA.. He didnt up grade anything in the motor except what can with the turbo kit when he bought it.

 

346hp... hopefully for you, he's fwd? I don't know too much about Camaro's yet, and nothing on VW. I have heard that VW's break, hard to work on, etc etc. Other than that, I dunno.

 

Come on, you can't claim they break and are hard to work on if you don't even know they're FWD.
