Default 95 Z28 vs 96 supercharged mustang

Alright, my friend just put on a supercharger on his 96 mustang gt, it is pushing 330 to the wheels. i have a 95 z28 6speed, with a flowmaster catback, K&N cold air, and nextweek i will have the LT4 hot cam kit installed. what are my chances in a race? i was owning him before the supercharger so what can i get to beback to that?

im not real familiar with the lt1, but i think the lt4 hotcam is pretty mild. My friend did a full lt4 swap on his 97 TA and put down 290 rwhp with LT's and a few other boltons. he was pretty lean htough so he would have had a little more.

but thats a full head, cam, intake swap for him. I dont think you will make those numbers with just the hotcam, especially without headers.

personally I would do the lt4 upper end swap but go bigger on the cam.

I would say your putting around 265WHP out like Specter said heads and a bigger cam can go a long way. A bottle would be a cheap and easy way to put the GT back in place. If you dont want the bottle then build the top with more the LT4 parts. A good set of heads and a good cam could match the 330 from the GT. Also might want to look into gears 3.73 or 4.10s

agreed, aftermarket heads, cai, a BIG cam, and an intake swap as well asputting the bottle on will have you eating him up, as well as most cars on the road for that matter
