Hell, when I was making less power than an STi, I was still stomping them just because I didn't have to carry 3 times the drivetrain weight and rotational drag down the track. Now that I'm making much more power, it would take an 800hp STi to make it down a 1/4 faster than me. At the track, a Camaro with a little power and good traction should be able to pull better 60' times than an STi with more suspension mods. Then you also have the advantage of less parasitic drivetrain loss. I fear a modded Camaro much more than a modded STi any day.

 

In a straight line I fear a modded Camaro more, but if we went to an auto-x event the STi would run circles around most modded Camaros. Everyone makes a big deal about beating cars in the 1/4, the STi is made to rally and take turns, not go in a straight line. No matter what, the moral of the story is always: How fast can you afford to go?

 

So very true but.... at the end of the day you will want to go faster
