Default 94 Z vs. 05 gt

Ok so my buddy here just got a 2005 Ford Mustang GT with the 4.6 and 5 spd manual. I have heard people say they have somewhere around 300hp stock. Well we were talkin here at work wondering how close of a race it would be between our cars. Being curious just thought I'd get on here and see everyone's thoughts on the matter. The car is the 94 that is in my sig.

Well he used to have a camaro as well is the funny thing. We know it will be a close race. We are going to try and run them this weekend. I know the mustang has a really good mid range. I know I can take him off the line though soo. We were kinda thinkin it would just come down to who ever got the best traction or whoever drove better

Having owned both a 95 Z28 and now a S197 Stang I am pretty sure you wont have a problem. With that being said people with full bolt on S197's are starting to dip into the 12.4 range but that is with an excellent driver.

Good luck and race in a safe area or better yet at the track - that way you got the proof to back it up.

New Mustangs dont make any power until above 3000 rpm's but for some reason do seem to rip pretty good out of the hole.

I ran a LT1 SS Vert Camaro the other day and had a fender on him to about 60. Pretty sure he wasnt modded though other than a cat-back.

The reason the s197s do so well out of the hole is their 3-link suspension. It's VERY forgiving to poor-moderate drivers. It's a fair bit more difficult to launch an lt1, what with the gobs of low end torque. :P haha

yeah i know what you are saying. If you don't have your rpm's just right they seem to just dive then slowly gain back up. but once you find that sweet spot man do they hook well.
