hey. my female co worker have a 03 mustang gt. she is sayin that she wants to race me in my 93z28 camaro. i not sure if she is stock but i do know is i think she might have and exhast and i definitely kno that it is an automatic trans. any i have cai, hooker aero chamber muffler, 2200 stall converter, and a shift kit. i was thinking maybe a drivers race or so. i not going say that she dont know how to drive because it is an automatic so there really no room for her to mess up on shifting. any thoghts would be great. oh yeah do any know how much hp i am producing with what i have on my car or where i could go to find out. i live in Atlanta Ga.

 

i would give u the win here.just withwith a bigger stall and shift kit. the mustang autos are kinda crappy and slow the car down alot.

 

If it was manual it might be a different story, I had an 04 GT give me a good run his was manual and so was mine.

 

Stock for Stock its a close race but i would say you should be able to take her. With your mods and since she is near stock if not stock you should have a easy win.

 

How is this supposed to a close race?? Her car is the last year of the old 80's body style Mustang with an old 5.0 engine if I'm not mistaken. His z28 would have more than a 1 second advantage in the 1/4 mile even without his mods.

no, its an 03 mustang, he has a 93 z28. the 03 is the 2v 4.6 in the new edge body style. most recent other than the 05+ models

93 was the last year for the fox, u probably just misread.

A 5.0 would die in this race. However as i said stock for stock the 2 valve 4.6 in the second to last year of the engine is a little closer with the LT1 favored by a little. With his mods its a easy kill.

 

im not sure but i have heard from a couple mustang guys that the old 5.0 is faster than the newer mustangs like i said im not positive as i could care less a mustangs a mustang and sooner or later they all blow up

 

unfortunately I know more about mustang and ford performance than I do about chevy.

the answer is no, the 5.0s were pretty weak out of the box. some of those guys will tell u they ran 12s all day with a stock fox, but i have yet to see it, and i have seen plenty run 15s with decent 60' times so that means no, they cannot run those times. I used to outrun those things all day long in my 00 GT.

Once you replace the crappy factory heads those things can liven up in a hurry, but stock they are pretty worthless.
