Stock you would kill him on the street. Unless he did something drastic to his. The one I raced at the strip had 400 AWD HP and he had bigger turbos and a boost controller. I was still running faster MPH than him so you should race him and let us know how you do you will win.

 

the thing about the 3000VR4 is they are VERY heavy almost 3800 lbs in the coupe and almost 4000 for the convert. they respond well to mods but they are still very heavy and every 100lbs = a tenth of a second.

 

Well the 3000GT's are twin turbos, the VR-4's are AWD. Like coprunr said they are heavy, but those turbos add a bit to the car. Is the car tuned properly? How does he have the turbos set up?(i.e. when they kick in...high revs, low revs, ect.) But at stock you should still be able to smoke him. He might have a quicker take off if you race from a light, but other then that you should still win.

The only mod I could tell from looking at it real quick was that it had this really FAT single exhaust coming out the back. I mean the thing was FAT FAT, looked crazy, idk

 

the reg. gt do not have a twin turbo in them only the vr-4's have turbos and if he only has a single pipe u might wanna think he has fake badges cuase the vr-4 comes with dual pipes and i dont think he would change it to single if u know wat i mean unless he is a meat head then well better for u. i think he might have fake badges i see a lot in MN with the fake badges so get some pics of the car i think the body kits are diff. from the gt to the vr-4 too like the side vents or somthing i will look it up when u get those pics...

 

Oh I ain't gonna be takin pics of the piece. I'll just study the differences in cosmetics and figure it out on my own and let you guys know... I never thought about it being fake badges though, thats interesting. I know There's 2 fake mustangs that have been rolling around here for awhile. Once claims to be a STEEDA which comes stock with over 400 ponies, and the other claims to be a SALEEN, which we all know what saleen's are. I'm pretty conviced both these wannabe's are v-6's. I've heard them roll by countless times and I can't make an ounce out of a v-8...

 

my bro raced a 95? vr4in 1997 in his 71 4dr. nova with a rebuilt 350 and whopped the crap outta the guy... but my bros car ran like a 14.1 at the track so he knew how todrive it, it also depends on like the other guys said if u start out at a complete stop or if u count off when ur already going cause if itsawd then he will def. hook up better (obviously) but idk how much them turbos will lag... u can def. take him if u can drive decently

Ithink 98ss is 4 real when he mentioned the single exhaust, guy down the street has a TT 3000gt VR-4 and it has dual pipes out the back,the guy owns his own performance shop, he stopped by the other day when i was in the garage working on the Z, he was on his way to get it tuned. they are nice cars, especially this one, he mentioned the turbo's were upgraded,but i was surprised how heavy the car was, even still it had some ***** to it, think he said it should be running around 320 awhp with the tune.

 

I think you guys are right. I'm gonna assume its a fake and wait to pull up behind him... then I'll leave em in the rearview mirror pretty quick. The last couple days comin home from work I've had a 5.0 modded stang pull up behind me on the highway and he never does anything. He just keeps his distance, not once trying to pass. hmmmm maybe I'm intimidating? :P
