So I pretty much set this up, I saw the light was about to turn red and switched lanes so the guy would pull up beside me. I kept looking at him to see if he wanted to go, but he was just looking straight forward. Well the light changed and he took off hard so I had to play catch up. I saw him slow down when he shifted to 2nd, and I hit 2nd pretty hard, I didnt have TC off so I imagine it caught me for a bit. I am pretty sure I was walking him down. But we were on post I was already doing about 65 in the 40 and I dont need to give the MP's something to talk about since we were on the main road through post. So I just cut it off right there. He continued on a bit till he relized I had shut it down. Better than coffee in the morning. Just wish he would have ackowledged that he wanted to go so I would have know.

Lesson learned though. Mustang + Camaro + red light = go time, no matter what the other guy acts like he's doing. I should have known anyway.

Ya, I should have known, but I thought maybe he calmed down since we were on post. I am especially embarassed now that I saw the specs for the Shelby, maybe I was reading wrong, but only 300 something HP rated. I though more of them. But I have to give it to the guy, he got to go around today and tell all his buds how he smoked me, and however you do it a win is a win, lol.

 

only things missing from that is a led zepelin 8 thrack and bell bottoms

haha, ford are well known for over rating there cars, they tested a mustang gt500 (2008 spec or something) vs. an ss camaro 2010 (on top gear a british car program) and the mustang got 440hp at wheels and the camaro pulled 420. yet the mustang is quoted at 500 and the camaro at 436. Ford lie!

 

it wasnt the GT500 it was just a Shelby GT. Funny thing is that in the story telling one of my work buds told me the GT500 running around on Carson is just a body kit. How would that race look? I think I might have to pick a fight with that guy, lol.

 

I though the shelby GT was always the 500?? dunno, not into mustangs, my pal has a rouch stage 3 supercharged etc, it pretty fast but he wont race me
