03 and 04 are the same car. Im confused what u mean by how. if u mean how much it would be .4-.7 seconds depending on how the cars are launched. the cobra is a little heavier than an SS, but a stock cobra will dyno at around 360 rwhp while any ls1 car will put down about 300rwhp. that 60 hp difference translates into about a half second which doesnt sound like much, but its a huge gap in the quarter. gotta respect the supercharged 4v. another thing about those cars is that they come forged from the factory, capable of supporting up to about 600 rwhp without problems. to go much past that u need better forged parts though.

so what if i put a new head/cam and new exhaust that should give the camaro about 500 hp so it should win then plus i could always either turbo or s/c the ss and then the stang wouldnt have a chance rite

expect 450ish with a head/cam exhaust package, which yes, you would beat the cobra. A pullied and tune cobra could make those numbers as well however. those cars mod well, and there is no telling how fast they are. it isnt hard to get them to 500rwhp. it probably wont be as simple as just slapping a turbo or sc on though. if you are already doing heads and cams you will need several other upgrades to support any kind of FI including maybe a blower cam. you cant slap mods on all ***** nilly, you will end up with a very expensive pig that cant breath well.

if you are worried about beating stock cobras, then get yourself some longtubes and a lid and a 9" rear on some good racing tires. you will hand it to them all day. I am pretty lightly modded, but I am in the process of tuning up for a 150 shot of nitrous. I expect to upset a few cobra owners

you could do the head/cam/exhaust and for 275 put a 75 or hundred shot on the motor an tear his *** up

The cobras arent that quick from the factory, they only run mid to low 13's. Yea you can put a $50 pulley on them and get an extr 50hp.The Cobra's independent rear suspension is their weak point. It eats hp and isn't the best for a good launch. I know a guy with an 04 600rwhp Cobra that only runs 11.7s. Yea thats quick but if you build a 600 rwhp f body with the supporting mods you shold be in the very low 11's posibly 10's . So im not saying the Cobras arent nice, but they aren't what everybody makes them out to be. The other night my friend ran an 03 Cobra with a pulley and a tune. My friend had an 02 z28 with lid, lt headers, ory pipe, and borla catback. The camaro ran 13.11 and the cobra ran 13.41

you are wrong (just wanted to get that out of the way first)

the cobra is a mid 12 second car out of the box

The IRS is weak for the launch, but so is a 10 bolt. you shouldnt go knocking that suspension setup. ur buddy cant get good times with his 600 hp cobra, well a 600 hp Fbody wont cross the finish line at all with its stock rear. I know a guy who rebuilt the rear in his terminator. has a ported blower, pully, and a 150 shot. isnt putting down 600 hp and runs low 11s (.2-.3 range)

but that mid low 13 stuff is crap. a stock fbody will get straight up walked by a terminator. sorry, but we gotta face facts

Yeah that's what I was about to type, a stock 03-04 Cobra is easily in the 12's.
