Default 1991 Skyline

I was looking around at what was being sold around here just to see what there was.. and some dude is importing Skylines and 3000GTs and MR2's from Japan over here. So I drove out to his place to look and he has a beautiful 1991 Skyline GTR. Its the twin turbo AWD version. RB26 is the engine for those who don't know. So I was pondering on buying this (Still am, but dont have the funds) and then my buddy said he was thinking of buying it and we would race.

He says the Skyline will walk all over me because it was underrated at 280 horse and actually has 320, and it weighs about 300-400 pounds less than mine plus he has AWD. If I race him what am I lookin at? A close race? A total *** whooping? Has anyone raced an AWD GTR before?

Good race. Video Tape it. :P

But I'll put my money on the Z28 in this race.

EDIT: And if you really want to flex some muscle, do it from a roll. His AWD is of no help, and you trap about 3-7mph faster than he does. :P

I dont see how the skyline weighs that much less than the camaro with the AWD. I could be wrong i'm not an expert on Skylines, and your Z has about 325-350 in HP. Not including the Bolt-ons.

That will be a good race. I think you should Inch away from him. Get it on Video.

With the twin turbo/AWD skyline it weighs about 3150, my camaro is about 3350-3450. Haha well if either one of us buys it we'll do a quick race and see how it goes.

Turbo lag should bog him down off the line, unless he knows how to bypass it. The AWD will help his launch and hurt the rest of his run, I think. If you were running a track, it'd be a different story, but a straight drag, you should have him, as long as you can drive

There's more power loss through an AWD drivetrain. Anything after launch it's not going to help since after the first 60' the race is almost all about who has more HP.

Is there any GTR's that don't have AWD then?
