depends wat u have, if you have a 350 l98 u have 245 hp and mid 350's in torque, plus with ur weight advantage, he wont rape u that bad, o and for hooever i saying that 305's are all slow, u need to spend some time on thirdgen.org plenty of low 13 second 305s. I hit high 14s with a l69 h.o dual snorkle and a flowmaster catback, in my 91 rs.

if it's a 5.7 TPI car stick with the TPI , it's a easy to upgrade. with a cam , exhaust , a Holley Stealth Ram intake, a CAI , and a AFPR you can easily make 315hp. with a head swap you can pull 400hp out of that engine and have under $3,000 invested.

Even a 3rd gen LT1 would have trouble with a newer generation mustang. Its not the same 260hp power that’s in the older body. The new 300hp plant is more than a match for any stock LT1 or TPI 3rd gen. A good head cam package and full exhaust would probablybring you ahead of the GT or a little spraywould also do the joblol. The LS1 on the other hand has a edge over the stang and some one correct me if im wrong but I think is something like 250 pounds lighter than the base model ford.

3rd Gens never came with an LT1. Either way an LT1 would probaby give the stang a good run, I'd be willing to say that with a CAI and cat back the LT1 would probalby take the stang, but it'd be a good race either way.

i disagree. the 3v runs really hard. it would take a little more work for an lt1 to hang with a new stang.

The 3 valve engine is not like the old power plant. She has a good amount of top end. Mind you that the ls1 4th genis only a little bit faster than the 3 valve.
