A guy I work with LOVES sti's, and we rced over 10 times in one hour, he has over 9 grand in engine and suspension mods to his STI. I was bone stock... With an AUTO yet, and he could only keep up to me to 60 MPH, after that, sheer power took over, and I pulled ahead...

 

but in my GTP I can beat stock STI's, not off the line, cause of traction issues, but from a roll at 30 MPH, no problem... Mind you my GTP is far from stock and has 304 whp..

 

carguy that doesnt sound right either. there are a ffew STi guys around my town which are modded to about the extent of this guy. they are quick and could take out a stock vette, however it does sound goofy to pull on a highway roll when the vette has full boltons. he probably beat the driver in this case, still no shame in that

 

speaking expressly stock to stock... from a dig or a roll win should go to the LS1 all things being equal from a dig STi should jump out but get reeled in just like the evo in low 3rd gear... from a roll the camaro should pull and never stop pulling

 

I think I could beat a stock 03 Cobra, b/c the guy with the C5 vette with bolt ons I raced said he beat a stock 02 C5 Z06 in his Vette. And he now owns a cobra, and he said a stock 03 cobra is a very good race with a C5 Z06, so I think that means I can beat a cobra. But regardless, I think I do so well is b/c I know my car too well and it's optimal shift points and the opposition just doesn't drive too well then.

 

do u have any track times,or is everything speculative?

 

I wanna race an 02 Camaro SS, I think that would be fun.....

 

it would the exact same thing as an 02 z28. there isnt any performance difference

 

my car has been to the track once. And I was on my race gas tune and I ran a 12.2 @ 113.1mph

 

The car is probably capable of hitting 11's. Others have done it with the mods that I have and they've gotten the times down to 11.7's on the stock turbo. But it is an extremely rare case.
