a buddy of mine who is a die hard ford fan just bought himself an 05 v6 five speed mustang.

so naturally there was a little smack talk, and now we are going to race. should this be an easy kill for me?

 

u hit ur gears right and shift around 4200-4800 u will get him by atleast a car.
i raced i think it was a '05 gt, not sur the year, but i beat him by a car and a half..

 

hope your talking about doing it on the track...

how much hp did the 4.0 make? im a little rusty for these threads..... i feel like the mustang will walk away with this one

 

210 hp claimed by Ford. I'm not sure if the Mustang is heavier or not, but if his Stang is stock, your mods should put you a bit ahead of him in the HP area.

 

we will be lining up on some back country road. especially up here in canada, strips are few and far between.

the stang is almost the same weight, while putting out an estimated 210. i am hoping the mods will allow me to make this a definitive race.

4.0 mustang 210 hp @ 5300 rpm, 240 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm

Race him and find out since with your mods you should be very close to the same power level. Im going to say drivers race.

 

my dad has a 05 mustang and my buddy has a 97 firebird with the v6 ive driven both and i would say that the firebird was just a bit faster they are both bone stock

 

ill just swap to a crappy old clutch and go for it... you couldnt hurt anything else my cars been built to be pretty builtproof as far as miss shifts of clutch issues
