who do u think would win between a completely stock 02 ls1vette and a 00 ls1 camaro with an slp lid, kn n filter ,free ram air mod , slp loudmouth cat back , hypertech programmer and 3.73 gear ratio. the vette is a manual and the z28 is auto ive new 350z with drag radials, srt 4s with boost turned up , mustang gts and trashed them im just wondering how id do against my cousins vette cause he swears hed rape me

 

fbodies will actually dyno higher than vettes. however the vette is lighter.

he wont rape u, but if he knows how to drive I dont know if your mods would be enough to make up that weight difference. it would be interesting. those gears are going to help you tho.

Sounds like a drivers race, however I think the vette has an advantage becuase of the standard Tranny.

 

My interstate experience with a standard ls1 vette and my standard ls1 ss is that it is a drivers race. SpecterGT is right that those gears arent going to help ur cause here. Who ever gets on it first is most likely to "Win" if you call a win that needs to have a picture taken at the finish line again thats just my experience. I would like to hear your results..

 

vette is designed to handle the power it has better than the camaro...

he will win, not by much but then again still...it's a drivers race range

 

The auto trans on an F body is an advantage. 1st gear is steeper and better for launching.

 

I would think the Camaro would have an advantage in the 1/8th mile but the 1/4 would be a pretty even match.

 

Yea, but the corvette is lighter and should luanch right with it. I was thinking more of after the 1/8 then the vette can keep his revs up between shifts. But, I dunno tho, I still think its a drivers race.

Also, what size tires do you have compared to the vette?

 

isnt the vette tranny different? i know the fbody auto is better for the launch than the t56, but how does the vettes first gear compare?
