I raced my cousin today in my 91 RS. He drives an 02 Ford Escort ZX2 with hooker headers and an exhaust system. Can somebody tell me why I got my *** whooped by this little ricer wanna be?

 

What engine do you have? 305? V6? If your a sock 305 the best time you can hope for is high 15's

 

its a 305. what could i do to get some more acceleration?

5spd or auto? ive got a 305 with an automatic and my acceleration sucked *** til i stopped lettin the tranny do all the work. i usually let the tranny shift, but if i want to be quicker, i shift around 4000-4500rpm instead. the tranny shifts between 2000 and 2500 i think.
