Gaining insights from a relative handful of anonymous product reviews requires patience and skill at reading between the lines. Anonymous reviews of replacement auto parts are even sketchier. There are just too many parts and too many vehicle models to ever hope to get a meaningful number of useful reviews for any one part. RockAuto may have ten alternators with a choice of three amperage outputs that fit just one truck. Reviews of broad part types (alternators, thermostats...) and brands (ACDelco, Stant...) without any specific make, year, model, engine connections are likely to be nothing but vague opinions and biases.

First off, when buying replacement parts for my American made vehicle, I avoid cheap chinese crap [usually the cheapest option]
Then I look at the warranty policy available and make my decision then.
A lot depends on the specific part on where to get it. I have ordered from RockAuto and been satisfied.

I just have a habit of getting my parts locally .that way I can check out the quality of the parts .and the counter guy. I have even had issue with a Chevrolet dealer counter guy .Who didnt know what I was talking about.

You can't please everybody all the time, There will always be the 'one' person.
I suggest if complaints are 5% of all qty of items sold, good record.
It's the old American way - 'You pay for what you get.' I get by brand, mainly AC-Delco, Stant, etc., and have no problem.
I always wondered if you have a 7 square mile building housing all the parts for ALL the models. Shesh ...
