Default Compressors

I am looking to upgrade my compressor. I currently have about the largest you can get on 110v. It is one of the oil free and it is noisy. I have a air driven lift and do some paint work from time to time. I plan on this upgrade as soon as the snow will let get my trailer out of the back yard.

I am thinking this one from Lowes. I like it because of the 3 year warranty. I can normally find 10% off coupon
Shop Kobalt 3.7-HP 60-Gallon 155-PSI 230-Volt Vertical Electric Air Compressor at Lowes.com

I would love to get an ingersoll rand or a Speedaire but they are more then twice what the Lowes one cost.

Opinions???

How loud my current compressor is. It is a Craftsman/divilbiss

Thanks, I did not know the IR compressors could be bought for $699. I still like the 3 year warranty on the Kolbalt. I have more research to do.

I got to wonder if all these machines are just the same thing with different paint on them. When I read the reviews it is hard to say which compressor is which.

Not sure what they run, but we own a Magna Foce 5HP in the garage. It's 20 years old and hasn't let us down. We've used it on anything from the 1/2 in drive impact to sand blasting to painting. Never had a problem on it keeping up.
