BasicConcepts JDM Prelude build thread
so i had my buddy spray my rims with a single stage black paint, they looked good but they wernt a very high gloss and there was a little orange peal. i called him up and asked if i could wetsand and use a rattle can clear on the single stage, he said ya no problem. so i pulled one of the rims off the car, had the tire dismounted, wetsanded (it was looking glassy smooth), and sprayed some clear. it was Krylon Crystal Clear triple thick (the can on the right)

well this paint is complete CRAP. first it didnt dry crystal clear more of a pasty white, and it left a powdery residue all over the rim (best think i can compare it to is corn meal). needless to say it ruined the whole thing. so i brought it to my body shop friend and he sandblasted it back to bare aluminum. this time im trying the rustoleum method. just got my first coat on and so far it looks pretty good. ohh and i used a fence sprayer to apply the rustoleum.
long story short DO NOT USE KRYLON CRYSTAL CLEAR its crap

just put the last coat on the rim looks real good, i also have a restaurant heat lamp over it to melt and smooth the paint (it also give it a VERY durable hard finish)
so i was looking at new headlights for my car yesterday and came across these

than i decided instead of spending 250$ on headlights that look exactly like the stock ones except black, ill just mod mine
so first i had to pull the front bumper. it was pretty easy just 6 bolts and the whole thing came off including the metal part.

heres the whole unit

and some masking

and the final product

it was getting dark out when i finished up so the last pic is kinda crappy, tomorrow when i get them reinstalled ill get a better pic
