1956 Chevy Custom "Miss Taboo"
heard from the upholster that the rear seat, arm rests and top are all done. now down to the carpet, side panels and the trunk. the motor is really close to firing. running new fuel lines, got the radiator in have been sorting out all the wiring. car is moving along for the roadster show.
So what's the "Top" the upholsterer has done for it?
tomorrow will be able to pick up all the rear seat parts at upholstery and drop off the console. still waiting for carpet so pieces can start going in.
sad news today, Ron Luchs, the guy who originally bought and customized the 56 has seen his health decline rapidly. he has a stain of leukemia that there is nothing that the doctors can do. he couldn't even recognize my grandpa tonight. would be surprised if he makes it through the weekend. He was looking forward to see the custom all done in the roadster show this year. Hope something changes for the better but things are not looking good right now.
Very sad update. Ron passed away last night around 10pm. He was a great guy and thanks to him we were able to trace and document the entire history of his custom from new to today. he will be deeply missed. the roadster show will be a bitter sweet event when the 56 makes it debut again to the show
