I am in Kings Park/Suffolk County. Currently in the process of purchasing my first F-body after many years of wanting one! Tonight, I should have a low mileage, mint SS in my garage and I couldn't be more excited!! Only lived in NY for a year so I don't know too many people around here... let alone car guys. Would love to get together with some car nuts.

P.S. Every Thursday night is a large car show in Kings Park @ Kings Park Plaza just behind the train station. It really turns a great crowd and a ton of american metal cruising around! Easily 50-100+ cars every week.

 

I used to live near you, ( Dix Hills) but moved to PA 6 yeas ago. I am not sure of what is going on now, but there used to be a gathering of car buffs on weekend mornings in the parking lot at Captree State Park on the south shore. Don't recall if it was Sunday or Saturday morning. Very friendly group and some really nice muscle cars. After midnight a lot of street racing was going on Deer Park Ave, south of the LIE, Deer Park down to Babylon. This was a mix of ricers and American iron which included a good number of Suffolk County police cars. including some Camaro chase cars. The poor cops could not give out tickets fast enough and cars would race right by them. The real crazy people would run on the Bob Moses Causeway, good 5 mile stretch usually traffic free in early mornings. If you weren't familiar with this road, it got very interesting when it ended in a round about around the water tower at Bob Moses park in Fire Island.
