wet or dry whats best ???
Well I'm new here, and was wondering what you guys thoughts on what you perfer NOS wet or dry kits I've got quite a few buddies with there thoughts , but most of them are mustang guys and it seems there fry kit is a lot less then the one for the lt-1 camaro, here it is guys I have 95 camaro with a new 383 stoker motor putting out about 440 according to the sheet they sent , I just had the tranny rebuilt with a shift kit and a 3000 stall converter , also had 3.73 gears added to the rear , really wanted 4.11s but need the extra gas mileage . Going to the track on the weekends running about 8.30s on all motor in the 1/8 and wanting to get in the high 7s please help me.
Is your motor built up more? 440 at the flywheel or the rear tires? I prefer wet systems just so you don't lean out your air to fuel mixture too much and start burning holes in the piston. Get a timing retarding programer to kick in whith the NO2 because the rule of thumb is for ever 10 HP back your timing off 1 degree. Wet systems are better because it is not only how much air you can get in there, but how much fuel you can stuff into that combustion chamber... if it's all it has nothing to burn and just have an empty spark. My boss has this motor in his 72 Camaro http://www.pro-formanceunlimited.com...3_450drop.html and he's only running low 11's with a 3.73 rear end with the Munic 5 speed transmission. SO I'm really curious about your set up and maybe copy it for my motor build up.
Yeah according to the tech sheet that came with the motor should be to the rear wheels and every internal part of the motor is forged , from the pistons to the crank , and a little of everything in between , lots of extra in between from gears, and other parts and still adding.
