you still need low compression for a supercharger..same as a turbo... nitrous is actually not that bad for an engine if its set up right... just make sure you get a wet system and do it right and nitrous will be fine.

I've always been fascinated with turbos... I'd get a rear mounted one if I had the money.

h8ter, why would the SC be better than a turbo on his high compression engine? also, many of the honda motors are high compression too. vtec isnt a motor, its just something many honda motors have.

the big 4 second drag racing motors have 17:1 compression and run 40 or more psi of boost on their superchargers.

So a turbo is more work then what it is really worth? That good to know. for a DD car what would heads(like 195CC) and a LT4 manifold do to me gas wise and power wise?

they also run nitromethane for fuel which has a stellar octane rating. they also are dieseling by the 1/8th mark and you cannot shut the car off without cutting fuel, the engine will continue to fire without spark, the plugs fry every run, the rings last a day. All of this because the car runs under very stressful conditions. This is not a valid comparison. for our purposes high octane motors which will run on gasoline should not be boosted. you must lower compression before you plan to run serious boost.
