Default SC vs NOs

Ok my buddy has a highly modded 03 Tiburon GT, and i have a stock Pontiac GTP. The arguement is that once he gets his 50 shot, itll be over for my GTP....I however dont see how since NOS runs out. My supercharger doesnt need to be refilled...ever. My question for you guys is would you run NOS or a supercharger in your camaro?

On an Ls1 car I would (and do) run spray, mostly I do it due to the high compression of the LS1 (10.25 STOCK). That much compression is only going to allow for about 6psi boost on pump gas. As for the Tiburon beating your GTP, I have no idea, get a pulley and a few other mods and whip up on him.

Nitrous is a fantastic way to go, insane torque and can keep your car very streetable.
Not saying you can't with a blower as well, but you can't "turn off" the blower.
Not to mention the loss from the crank having to spin the thing too.

It depends what you mean by bad. Anytime you push more power out, you are creating more stress on engine and drivetrain and in some sense that increases wear, particularly if you are abusive or not a smooth driver.

That said, NOS is actually a good way to get that extra power. For a whole lot of technical reasons having to do with how it "burns" etc., it makes a slightly "gentler" power than normal, so it actually is less stressful on the engine parts PER HP GAINED than other means of getting the same power.

However, this all assumes that you have it set up right and tuned: NOS can burn up your motor in less than a minute if not set up right, or if you get leaks, etc., actually set the car on fire and feed the flames (I saw someone lose a firebrid that way).

I prefer a SC just because the power is always there, but NOS is less expensive, and effective if done right.
