I have decided to turbocharge my 99 z28. It wont be anytime soon but maybe by the end of the year. Im doing my research first.
My biggest question is where in the hell do you mount the turbo? There aint much room in that engine compartment and Im looking into STS rear mounted turbos but their really expensive. How much would a universal system cost me and then about how much for the custom headers and downpipe?
Im buying anaftermarket clutch, fuel pump, and 42# injectors to get me ready for it. I dont plan on running too much boost. Just enough to get me between 450-500 hp.

you want just a single turbo? i would relocate your battery, run a pipe from your hearders to the turbo which is now overtop of the battery tray and then squeeze the down pipe by the passenger side headers

 

any specific reason you wanna turbo it? Have you thought of a S/C?

 

Why not do a custom rear mount turbo just like the STS setups, also dont skimp out on price, you get what you pay for.
