how does a t-top car hold up under boost
I am looking at a 2000 ss with t-tops and sts system and i wanted to know how bad these cars are to twist the body if you get them hooked up at the track. Help me out fellas, I have a sweet 87 t-type buick i am looking at giving up for this car and i dont want to make a mistake.

with a set of subframe connectors you dont have to worry about the frame twisting. and the stock t56 can hold up to around 600rwhp ive been told. in a few months i could let you know myself though lol

here are a lot of T-top guys running a lot more then that. You will be fine at that level. The numbers seam a little low for that kind of set up on a built engine.

All the 4th gen Camaros were designed for a T top, whether they have one or not. The hard top roof is just a sheet of plastic stretched over the T top framework, and adds little or no stiffness to chassis. However; the 4th gen is much stiffer than any previous gen. As previously said, sub=frame connectors (welded), and perhaps strut tower braces will help controlling the carunder the additional power. You can always get the 6 speed modified to Viper specs or go to a beefed up auto. You should also look at stiffer LCAs and stronger torque arm.

dont go auto 6 speeds more fun and challengin at the track rowin through the gears its great calls for a better driver mod.and at that power t tops wont affect anything and the t56 should be able to hold up but if not then call up tick performance they will help you might cost a little bit but after you will hav a trans that will take anything

thanks guys for all your replies and the car does have a aftermarket panhard bar, strut brace, and better control arms. Think i might have to say good bye to my t-type for this one. One more thing i am in south GA and i need to know who in this area can put a good tune on this car thanks in advance
