I read in one of the popular car magazines perhaps a year ago about being able to put a turbo from a cummins diesel on your ltl1 camaro. They said this was doable for 900$, if you used a turbo from the salvage yard. Now that sounds like a pretty good deal considering what it would cost for a brand new vortech or whatever. The trouble is I can't find this article anywhere, and was interested in possiblytrying this idea. Does anyone have a link for this somewhere on the internet? Or even some information about it. Thanks

 

Don't forget that you are going to need a lot more than the turbo and its plumbing. The engine management and fuel delivery sytems will need to be upgraded and tuned by someone that knows what he is really doing, otherwise you will wind up with a lot of shrapnel. This knowhow does not come cheap, a whole bunch more than the $900 quoted.
