Hello,
I am in the process of purchasing a camaro but the owner does not have a title. I have printed out a bill of sale from the local license branch but They are closed for the Easter Holiday so I am unable to call them with the VIN. Does anyone know where or how to check the status of the Title?

do u have the VIN?

U could find a police officer and ask them.

 

If you know what state it was last titled in, you can check with that state's DMV. Older cars did not have titles, and a copy of the last registration was used in its place

 

It is/was titled here in Indiana. It is a 1989 Camaro. I didn't check if there was registration in the glove box but I can do that tomorrow. I have the VIN but the License Branch (DMV, BMV) is closed for Good Friday and won't be open until Monday. Now to make things even more fun we are getting snowed on like its January! Should make picking up the car a "fun" time. I have a Bill of Sale for him to sign so I should be able to get a title through that I just wanted to make sure it was clear before proceeding.
