hi im 17 years old im clue less about cars. i just got my permit last month(year) in december. and my brother had his 1st camaro about 2 years ago and i loved it then he wrecked it and got another 1 and he didnt want it anymore so i begged him to let me have it and he finally said yes. its a 1983 i think its a z28. im not currently driving it because the engine AND transmission needs to be rebuild or replaced. i love the car and im determined to fix it. i live in los angeles so if anyone knows a shop that can rebuild or replace my parts for cheap please let me know because right now im saving my pennies. other than that i look foward to learning more about camaros and maybe gettting some ideas. thanks

You might want to look around some. Even if you find a reasonable price shop in LA (yea good luck) the car is not worth the cost to pay someone to do all that work. I think you will find you can buy 82-85 camaro in running condition for a lot less. Heck for what a tranny/engine rebuild would cost you could find a 1992 Z28 with a 350 in nice condition.
