I'm Tom/Tommy. I'm a 20 year old mechanic from New York, and I'm in college. I just purchased my first car, and I figured I'd make it one of my favorites. An '87 IROC Z28. I figured I'd meet up with some other gear heads/grease monkeys, and talk about one of the greatest Chevy models of all time.

Welcome to the forum. Finally someone has the same car. Get those pic's up...... Is it all original or have you beefed 'er up, or plan to?. I'm itching to squeeze a 454 in mine or bigger.

 

I found a kick *** 454 on craigslist for 3g's i really want to buy it...

 

It's got the original 5.7 350TPI in it, but the guy gave me a swingin' deal on a 350 Crate. I got the car, and the motor for $1,500. Same car my dad once owned brand new. =] Kinda pissed him off at how cheap I got it for. lol

I'm with you Dad....I'm pissed too. I paid $6000+ damn it, lol. How many Km/Miles on the motor?. Did they only come auto that year?.

 

Nope, not all were automatic. Mine still has the original Borg Warner 5spd Manual transmission in it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they also came with the 700-R4? Automatic transmission.

 

In response to your first question...

I just put the Crate engine in it yesterday, and we took it to the air strip to test it out.

Let's just say, it does what's on the speedo'
