Sort of new!
I've been a lurker for a couple of months and figured that I'd better say hello! My name is Neil and I live in Warren, Michigan near Detroit. A good place to live with a lot of local resources for a car guy.
I now own my 3rd Camaro, a black 77 Type LT. My first was a 69 base model with a built 327, TH350 that I bought in around 1975. I foolishly sold it when I was stationed to Alaska in 1979 figuring a hot rod didn't belong in the great white north. Again, a very foolish decision. I also bought a base sport model in 1977. That car stayed pretty much stock and was also a casualty of the move to Alaska.
My 77 LT is my "project" now and I'm still trying to decide which direction to take. I'm not sure if I'll stick with a small block(350 or 383), a big block(454) swap or go with an LS swap. Right now the 350 is staying until I replace the interior. It has a red interior but is being swapped with black. I have most of the parts as they came in the deal for the car. Still, a few repairs to the motor, cooling and brakes are in the works to get it drivable and safe. I'd like to have it at least presentable for the cruising season next year(especially the Woodward Dream Cruise). My future goal is to do the long haul on the Hot Rod Power Tour.
I'm looking forward to making a few new friends, picking a few brains and helping out when I can!

Thanks for the welcome. I just started tearing into the interior and knew I had a right hand rear floor pan section to replace but also found that I will be replacing a section of the front pan too. Also a small patch needed in the drivers footwell but that doesn't look like rust! Time to run over to NPD and get a few parts. Good that I live close to one of their warehouses. Time to fire up the welder and cutting tools I guess. Other than skiing, not much else to do in a Michigan winter unless I fix my snowmobile....lol. Rather put the bucks into the Camaro!
