Second times a charm I hope?
Well I'm a second time Camaro owner. My first was back in 1970 I bought a 1967 coupe from a little ol lady in my neighborhood. In 1967 when she bought the car I was her paperboy.
Few years later I was driving by in my 65 pontiac Le mans and saw it for sale. Car had like 28,000 miles on it 3 on the tree w/ 327 she was asking $ 1250.00 of course I didn't have the money.
Anyway she had always liked me and told me to give her half and I could pay the rest off, then take the car which eventually I did after going over several times and just sitting in it.
The day I went to pick it I remember her last words she said. Promise me what ever you do, don't hot rod the car!
A couple months later I was driving by her house which I had been avoiding cause the car now had L-50-15s on the rear and N 50-15s on front with some headers.
She was watering her yard and started shaking her finger at me like a school teacher.
The car was my pride and joy I worked on it for many years had it painted twice, One of my best buddies was a paint guy for Ford in our town
Then one day in 1980 the car disappeared never to be seen again. Cops said it was probably in Mexico.
Well for the good news I just bought a 1967 basically a copy of my car except has a 6 cyl in it and isn't nearly as nice as my lil ol lady car and paid a heck of a lot more!
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it
Pics to come of both cars!
