Default Not Really new just bee a long time

Ok so here is the story (grab some pop corn and a soda) I'll start at the beginning. My Aunt was the first owner. During that time it was apparently in an accident it was fixed up but then sat in a storage unit for some years. After my aunt passed away it was left to Me in her will (cool Aunt i know) but sadly it still sat tell i turned 15 by then it was pretty sad looking but still road worthy. It Became a father son project around then we started planning what to do to it.

It is a 67 RS Camaro with stock 250 inline 6
and 2 speed powerglide (love that tranny)

Back to the story. So he more or less set out the plans that we would begin to use to restore and mod the car. It would get a new 292 inline because it would look stock but has more power potential. the tranny and rear end would be beefed up to take the power and the car would get a nice clean look nothing showy. and work began with getting it drivable but shortly before the project took off He passed away so i was left with a plan and no motivation to finish it as he was one of the biggest driving forces in my life at the time. so i just drove it for a couple years then it went to the garage again after a few things like the heater core blowing up and the headlight covers stopped working made me warry of driving it. Now it is 2010 i am 26 and my new years resolution is to pick up were me an my father left off and get the car back on the road.

So here is why I'm back and the point of the story. I am in Way over my head the car needs a lot of work and i need help. I will not sell the car so don't ask. I don't have much in the way of resources or money so I'm looking for parts cheep or donated that are restorable cheep. the big one is the 292 (i have a 327 Sb that needs A LOT of TLC but is a good collector motor for trade for parts or help but that's only worth maybe 150 in present condition). If i get the engine and some electronics i desperately need i can put the car back on the road and finally be on the path we started years ago. This car meant a lot to my aunt my father and me and I one day want to take it to a car show in they're honor. And some day pass it on to one of my sons when they are old enough.

Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm not begging this car just means a lot to me and i will do anything to get her back on the road.

Also i will be starting build log so every one can follow my progress and route or boo the underdog what ever floats your boat lol

I'm a Washingtonian so anyone in the area hit me up

Start a build thread over in the 1st gen section. Ask your question one at a time. Take lots of pictures. You going to need to do a lot of research. Normaly Budget and 1 gens do not go together. Many 1st gen Camaro specific parts are not cheap and there are 1000's of people looking for them (Your head light parts will fall into this list) You will have to buy new. But engine and engine parts from this era are cheap now and tranny and rear are stronger then you think. They both could handle 275 HP 327 assuming they are in good condition.
Research research and more research. Don't take anything else a part. Collect parts parts but do not take anything apart until you have a plan and the resourses to finish it.

oh the plan is already there I know what i need and what it will cost. But what I really need is a 292 I know they are around and I know that not too many want the ones they have unless they need one for a factory restore so if anyone has one they want to get rid of please shoot me a line I have a very specific plan that I will detail soon enough. I don't have alot of money right now so all the work i will be doing will be on the low end but the plan is laid out the car will get everything it needs but to get it back on the road I have a some parts that I need. I could rebuild the 250 but I could get a 292 running for just a little more that what my rebuild would cost me. so why not take a step closer to the goal.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Im anxious to see some pics of your 67. Im going on 3 years of a project I had no clue what it would really cost me. I went on a good friends word that I wouldn't have more than 18k in it........we are now at about 31k but the body had to go thru an almost complete restoration. I got very lucky in the guy who did it. Goodluck with your project.
