newbie w/ a 96.
What's up guys? My name is Jared, I'm 18, and I'm from Buffalo, NY, and I just got my first Camaro this past October. I previously owned a 1983 Oldsmobile Toronado (haha, ridin' dirrrtay), but after the piston rod bearings in the 5.0 it had seized up, I had to get a new ride asap to get to classes everyday. My parents made some calls (lol) and found out that my godfather's sister in law's son was selling his 96 base model almost-stock Camaro with SS badging (wtf?). I took a ride over and test drove it. Previously to this test drive I had never really known that I had ever wanted a Camaro, let alone cared. I fell in love. I bought the car that night and have never been the same. As it turns out, it must run in my blood. My father owned a 74 z and my uncle had a 78 ss. word. I feel bad I never got to see either.
So my Camaro, is a 96 base model (****in lame.) in bright red with black and grey pinstriping. It came with 18" 7 spoke black and silver American Racing rims as well as the stock rims with snow tires (due to our BRUTAL winters). But since I am a full-blooded Buffalonian, I drive my ride in a foot of snow just as easily as a bright summer day. The whole thing is stock except for the rims, some custom painted red interior parts, red neons under the dash, and a *****in' pioneer system. It's in great condition and has 100k on it, no problems as far as I can tell in the few months I've driven it. I paid 4.4k for it, but there is 1.7k invested in rims and tires and a $500+ system.
As far as modding goes, I plan to replace the UGLY *** rear drum brakes and maybe the front ones for a sexy new set, and I'm also planning on putting on a good cat-back for the near future, as well as maybe a new set of tail lights. After I get my feet wet, I plan on doing some other various mods, but I'm not sure specifically what I'll do yet.
The picture I'm attaching is from a 60 degree January thaw (and some people don't "believe" in global warming) and is kinda ****ty, I'll post some better pics soon. I hope to soak up some more knowledge from you dudes and eventually end up with a respectable ride.

nice looking car, it appears to be in good shape. who cares if its base model, its still a fun car im sure. just make a recording of a V* and play it on your stereo. lol
but seriously, if you want fast then that motor is capable, ive seen it. dont do tail lights, please. id rather you put fast and furious stickers on than do the ugly "euro" style tail lights.
