Newbie 4th-Gen owner in the UK
Hey all.
I've just bought myself a '97 Camaro 3.8 coupe.
Like most Camaros in this country, it's an import, but they finished the paperwork a few days ago so I picked it up on thursday! It's only covered 22k miles since new, so still in very good condition
Some more pics here
Hope to enjoy my stay here [sm=gears.gif]

Thanks for the welcome
Chevrolet brought the Corvette, Camaro and Blazerto the UKbetween 1998 and about 2001 I think it was. None of them sold as well as they'd hope so most of the ones you see here have been imported, be-it from North America, Japan or mainland Europe.
About25 miles from where I live are the two largest USAF bases in the country, so you see a variety of American cars around there, but they certainly aren't a common sight on our roads. Months can go by without seeing one, of any age! In fact, checking on Autotrader [by far the biggest nationwidesource for car sales], there's currentlyabout30 for sale in the whole country. Even checking in the specialist magazines dedicated to US cars over here, there's only ever 4 or 5 listed.
So, pretty rare

You see a fair few, yeah. The Elise is built just down the road from me.Lotus are based in place called Hethel which is about 10 miles from here.
I bet an Elise would be fun on the roads out west in North Carolina, around Asheville,Waynesville, Highlands, etc. I spent a week in NC back in 2004 and I even enjoyed those roads in the Sebring hire car
