Default Newb to the forum...

Hey my name is RJ and I just came acros this forum by doing some searches. I have a 72 Camaro I got from my dad who got it from his dad. The car has been in the family for about 15yrs or so. I was told it has a 406 in it but then again I was told it was a 400 bored .060 over. IDK if thats correct or not but its a fully built motor. I have all the paperwork that has been done to it with some ported/polished heads with casting numbers 398893 i believe. They have a 3 angle valve job too. The motor has been blueprinted and balanced. Accel HEI distributor with Accel wires. 750 cfm Holley double pumper carb and 140 gph Mallory fuel pump. Turbo 350 tranny with manual valvebody and transbrake. I decoded the car and found out it was a factory 307 motor with the RS option and Mojave Gold with Tan interior. Well as you can tell it has the hideaway wipers but its not split bumper. The car has the original hood but not original front nose piece. So I believe it was pulled from another car for some reason or another. It has a weak 10-bolt in it 8.5" with 3.73s.

The plans for this car are:

Convert it back to RS split bumpers
RS front under spoiler
4" Cowl hood
All chrome trim/bumpers
paint car silver w/black racing stripes
install C5 Z06 wheels
BBK
Re-Tint the windows
install racing seats
install 12-bolt or Ford 9 inch

The motor has had the timing turned down by my grandfather to run pump gas. Im going to turn it back up and throw race gas in it and dyno it to see what its got. What should I expect on 110 octane?

Sorry for such a long intro but thats all I know right now. Glad to be here to learn more about the car/old school carb motors. Coming from the import world im kinda relearning this stuff.

Nice platform to start off with. Now I really hate that I have to start mine from the ground up. It will look even better when you finish.

Thats funny though, I just looked at the pic of the car on the beach and said man, that looks a lot like the Emerald Grande and Destin in the background. I am in Fort Walton Beach. I am sure I will be seeing you around man.

Yeah, I almost went a couple of weeks ago. My brother-in-law had just finished his civic and went. Never really hung out with the FWD imports so I didn't go.
