Wanted to introduce myself, Name is Chris & bought a 2001 3.8L/4L60E Camaro a few months back, Motor has coolant in the oil (Thinking I/M gaskets)....Doesn't matter, Swaping in a LM7 5.3L/300mm 4L60E.


This my first F-body, But I work on them all the time a work. I specialize in LS swaps & building 4L60E/4L80E transmissions. I have never done a V6-V8 swap on a 4th gen before, But have most of the parts located.


I guess I will go see how much trouble I can get into on the board....

 

Welcome to C.F. Chris. Not to discourage you, but search around the 4th gen tech section before diving into it, there are a couple of v6 to 8 swap threads. Swapping in a V8 isn't a simple out with the old, in with the new like the older model were.
