New to the site
Hi everyone. I am new to this site. I have been hanging at thirdgen.org since 2000.I have two thirdgens, 88 IROC and 92 RS 25th Anniversary. Both are black. I came to this site because my son is thinking of buying a 4th gen Z28 and it will be a project car for him. Hopefully I will get the info he seeks here and can enjoy the other parts of the site as well. I plan to buy a 2012 5th gen if all goes well.
hay nightrider good to have ya here. ya know once you drive a 4th gen youll be hooked.
i would advise a 96-97 if the z28 is what your looking for. better ecu's. i hope things work out and the 2012 becomes a reality. pictures? if you have a photobucket copy the img code to the post and the picture will show. keep the size at or under 640 on the big side. welcome to the forum.

What I liked about my thirdgens is the handling and the ease at working on the car. The fourth gens seem to have the motor "shoved" into the passenger compartment which means I will have to do everything from underneath. But the car will be for my son so it will be more for him than me. Now then I am going to get fifth gen...OMG. Now that is a car that I must have.
you are going to want to keep the 4th gen for yourself.lol. power difference is big and they drive very nice. ride is a little on the stiff side but i like it that way and are very comfortable. not as nice as the 5th gen though. lucky dog, lol. enjoy.
Took a good look at this Camaro Z28 my son wants. Turns out it is a 1993 5.7 TPI. Very similar to my IROC Z tpi. It is red like yours with a grey interior. Needs some interior work which is no biggie. Needs to be repainted as well. Also needs a new fuel pump. If it's like the thirdgens then the fuel tank is mounted in the top of the gas tank so you got to drop the axle and tank. sounds like fun. I probably won't want the 93 for me as I am fine with my two thirdgen. However I will probably buy the car and make him pay me. If he doesn't then I will drive it. going to deposit it tomorrow so we are sure of having it.
is this a first car for him. are you sure you want something that goes 140 mph. lol maybe leave a plug wire off for the first yr.

No this is NOT his first car. He just wants something new. build on. He has a Grand Prix now but wants a more classic car that he can He is a good driver and drives my Camaro's all of the time. In fact he has my wife's IROC vert down at college this month.
good job mom n dad, yep pump is in the fuel tank, you can always do the hatch mod. theres a write up on here somewhere, just cant find it. you cut the hole and make a cover to it. ive seen some really nice jobs. next pump in mine will get it done.
